Golden Potato Onion Gratin
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- 1 inch medium sweet onion slliced l/4thick
- 2 pounds Wisconsin Yukon Gold potatoes sliced 1/4
- 1 teaspoon Sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 1 cup shredded gruyere cheese
- 1/4 cup shredded asiago cheese
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
Instructions
- In large skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat. Add onions; cover and cook until onion wilts about 6 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray a 9-inch square baking dish with no-stick cooking spray.
- Arrange half of the potatoes in prepared pan and top with half of the onions.
- Season with half of the salt and pepper. Repeat layers.
- Sprinkle gruyere and asiago cheeses over top. Gently pour cream over cheeses.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove cover and bake until potatoes are tender and top is golden brown about 40 minutes.
