Join Us at the Portage County Walk Wisconsin

May 5th, 2011 | Posted in: Health & Nutrition, News, Parents

Keep active in Portage County, Wisconsin — by joining Wisconsin potato fans at the Walk Wisconsin event on Saturday, June 4, 2011. We’ll be sponsoring some “Powered by Potatoes” people — so look for us!

Not a marathoner? Not even a Weekend Warrior? It doesn’t matter. The Walk Wisconsin has 1/4, 1/2 and full marathon walking events.

Registration is only $25 before May 7.

The event is for all ages and takes place along the eye-appealing Green Circle trail. A Kids Walk is available (children will need to be accompanied by an adult) at 10 a.m. Kids can complete a 1.3 or 2.6 mile walk.

Remember — potatoes are a great low-calorie, sodium- and cholesterol-free way to replenish your glycogen (energy) stores. And a great way to keep a trim waistline (thanks to the high fiber) and repair your tired tissues (thanks to the antioxidants).

1/4, 1/2 and full walking marathon along the Green Circle trail in Portage County.
